Da-le da-le daaa-le!

All week I've been singing the song and bashing things around the house when I get a hold of anything that can be made to look like a stick and today we were invited to a piñata party up the street at my friend Arantza's house. Arantza is exactly one month older than me!
I was scared at the start and stood a long way back...
...but I felt safe with Daddy and sang the song for everyone else.
Eventually, before the piñata was completely destroyed, I was brave enough to give it a go...several goes actually. Eventually all the sweets fell out and I got a bag to take home. I cried when we had to leave. Arantza is crouching down behind watching me.
Arantza's granny has the coolest Nativity scene. It's got lots of animals, a stream with running water, shops with flickering lights and it even has a desert where the 3 wise men travelled from!

Is this fashion?

Mummy and Daddy got me this hat. They say it'll keep the soap and water out of my face in the bath. That would be good but do I really want to look this silly?!

Back to the park

Intelligent playing.
I just love this play frame!
Look at mummy!

What's cooking?

Finding a place for everything in my new kitchen.
I'm an expert tea maker!
It definitely tastes better with 5 sugars!
Mmmm - ¡que rico!
Cake anyone?

Christmas Slippers

Thanks to Nonnie and Papi for keeping our feet festive!

Busy busy busy!

After opening all my presents I was tired and went to bed. When I came downstairs Mummy let me help her finish off the ham. I got to paint it with some gooey syrup - yummy!
Finally my Tios and Tias turned up and we had a yummy dinner and lots of fun together in the afternoon.

It finally arrived!

I knew something was up! I went in to wake Mummy and Daddy at 6am! They seemed to want me to sleep for a little longer but at 6.30am they eventually got me my milk and we went downstairs. What a surprise...
Some toys were hiding under pretty paper but I knew how to find them!
Got it!
A cool jigsaw. Since Tia Margaret and Tia Robin lent me 'Happy Feet' I love penguins.
An extra present from Nonnie and Papi in a pretty little bag. How did they get that here?
Nanny and Granda managed to get a present to me too - books about me...and some other famous characters.
Cool! Some food in a basket from Tia Margaret and Tia Robin.
After an overwhelming time I found out that it really is as much fun to give presents to others too...especially when they let you help them take off the paper. As soon as Daddy came back from Acapulco I was trying to get him to open the presents mummy and I wrapped for him. Finally he agreed!

Cards

We had some Christmas cards which we kept until Christmas Eve to open.
I got one from Nonnie and Papi...
...and guess who this one is from...

A visitor

Most people only expect Santa to arrive on Christmas Eve but look who turned up at our door!

What holiday is it?

I don't remember seeing anything like this before so I was a little scared to start with. Daddy says they are called 'sparklers' and we should have had them at Halloween but here in Mexico they are called 'star waterfalls' and are for welcoming baby Jesus.
It was nearly finished by the time mummy got it!
Thankfully we had more and I was even brave enough to hold it by myself!

Friends

Strange - it was dark when we went to church last week and there was no crèche. I played with my friends at the back instead.

Another cousin

Aunty Caroline and Uncle Simon gave me a new cousin this week. Well, I haven't actually seen her yet but I'm sure that when we get together it will be lots of fun.
This is my cousin Emily. You can see more pictures of her on her blog if you click the link on the right.
Isn't she gorgeous?!

The pain of baking!

While I was sleeping today Mummy was busy making yummy things in the kitchen. I came downstairs just as the last mix was going into a baking tray...but she hadn't been washing up as she went! What a pile of dishes! Lucky I love to help...well, I like to eat the bubbles even though it keeps getting me in trouble!

Yield not...it's so hard!

Our tree is so pretty. I just like to sit and look at it...
...but it's so tempting not to touch!

Presents!

Daddy's been away at work for an awfully long time - I haven't seen him since Wednesday. Still, it gave mummy and me the chance to wrap his Christmas presents. It was all very exciting. The rolls of paper are bigger than me!
I got to push down the sellotape.
There, one ready. How am I going to keep it a secret?!

Funny Faces

Making funny faces through the glass!
If I look a little pale it's because I was sick. I had a nice sleep and thought I was better but today I felt awful and mummy says I had a high temperature. It was nice to see her and get a cuddle every couple of hours through the night though. She says I have the head cold that she and daddy had last weekend. Today I've been sleeping lots and got lots and lots of cuddles. I'm not used to being sick and I don't hope to make it a habit!

Bird Watch

The greedy birds have eaten nearly all the seed we gave them so we had to refill the feeder. Then mummy dropped it on the ground when she was hanging it on the tree so we had to fill it again.
The birds will think Christmas has come early!

Preparing for February

I'm learning how to change nappies (diapers). First you take off the old dirty one
(and it's all the more fun if you screw up your face and make appropriate noises to show your disgust!)...
...then you clean up the damage with a wipe
(which I often then put in my mouth!)...
...then you put on a nice new clean one and that should last a few days!
I'm ready to be a great big sister!

Christmas Party

Here I am with mummy at the Christmas party.
We had great fun singing Christmas Carols. I often like to sing along now. Last week at team meeting everyone sang a song I knew off my DVDs and I was able to sing along and even get some of the words right!
Christmas is such fun!

Dear deer!

Though I spent 10 minutes on Monday morning very seriously telling mummy and daddy that I didn't want to wear the reindeer hat I somehow was seduced by it's charms!

Christmas Party

Yesterday Mummy and I went over to Tia Margaret and Tia Robin's house after I woke up. Daddy didn't feel well so he stayed at home. There were presents and food and singing.
I made sure everyone noticed my new white shoes.
Jonny and Julie bought me a doll's feeding set with lots of little bits. I love it!

Party Bag

After Mex-i-Kids on Saturday we all got party bags. Look, it has a piyanta (piñata) on it!
I was very interested to see what was inside...
...and even more interested when I did.
I'm not quite sure what all these things are...
...especially this thing with a funny long tail.
I did enjoy the little orange though!
